FAIR AT HAMILTON.
BEAUTIFYING SOCIETY. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] HAMILTON, Sunday. A fair extending over throe days, hold' on tho Ferry Bank, in aid of tho Hamilton Beautifying Society, concluded last overling. Fine weather -was experienced lor the period o; tho fair, which was well patronised. There .were numerous side shows, stalls and competitions. A, tug-of-war was won by tho Borough Coun-' cil team. There was an exceptionally large attendance at the fair last evening, The Hamilton Caledonian Society's Pipe Band played a programme of music, and girls gave several maypole dances. Coloured lights and the large crowd gave the park a bright, and animated appearance. The gross takings of th; fair total over £250.
