HOSPITAL BOARDS.

NORTH AUCKLAND PROBLEM. AMALGAMATION PROPOSED. A proposal that two North Auckland hospital boards should agree to amalgamate their, districts has been made by tho Hon. A. J. Stall worthy, Minister of Health. The boards concerned arc the Bay of Islands and the Hokianga Hospital Boards, and the proposal was made after tho Minister had received separate deputations from tho boards during his recent visit North.

Tho districts controlled by the boards aro the Bay of Islands and Hokianga counties, aiid the Minister is of opinion that amalgamation offers the only satisfactory solution of the problem of hospital administration in that area. The Minister proposes to summon a joint conference of the boards, at which he will be present, to meet in two or three weeks' time, probably at Ohaeawai.
