GOVERNMENT REPORT.The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows: —A depression on the Tasman Sea has enveloped cyclonic form and is moving rather rapidly toward New Zealand. Indications are for moderate to strong northerly winds, increasing to gale force at places, veering to southerly soon in the South. SoutherlieS will later become general. Seas rather rough to rough. In the Tasman Sea-strong northerly winds to gale, changing soon to southerlies in the eastern Tasman Sea, with rough seas. The weather will soon become unsettled, dull and misty, with rain in most districts and somo heavy falls in the North Island ahd tho eastern districts of the South, with thunder in places.
