ADHERENCE OF GENERALS.
SHANGHAI. March 20.
The Government at Nanking is preparing to resist the advance of the allied northern and north-western armies under Yen Hsi-shan, Governor of Shansi, who announces that to-morrow will see the commencement of definite troop activities against the Kuomintang. A report from Tai-yuan states that the Kuominchun 1 Army, under Feng Yuhsiang, is concentrating on Chengchow, where Feng is making his headquarters, while Yen proceeds to Peiping (Peking) to establish a provisional military Government. This definite mpve by Yen has caused a number of smaller generals to offer their. assistance to overthrow the President, Marshal Chiang Kai-shek. Nanking is .particularly quiet, regarding its intentions, although considerable movement of. troops .is noticeable.
