ITALIAN PICTURES.

EXHIBITION NOW CLOSED.

OVER 500.000 VISITORS.

(Received March 01, 5.15 p.m.) LONDON, March 20. More than 500,000 persons, the largest number that has, ever attended any exhibition of art, have visited the Italian pictures at Burlington House. The exhibition was closed to-day.

Packing the pictures for transport began immediately, and will proceed cTay and night until it is completed. The building is continually guarded by special police and detectives. The steamer Leonardo da Vinci, which brought the pictures through the December gales to London, will carry the precious cargo back.
