PROTEST BY CHURCHES.
REPORT TO RUSSIAN PEOPLE. BITTER ATTACKS ON POPE. LONDON, March 20. A British United Press report from Moscow says that, through official journals, the Russian people were told that last Sunday services of protest against religious persecution had fizzled out, and that, on the contrary, the workers in the chief European * capitals demonstrated against the churches and pledged their support to the Soviet. The Pope is the target for bitter cartoons, generally depicting him as the protector. of the Fascists, imperialists and well-to-do people.
