YESTERDAY'S WEATHER.
CONDITIONS IN SOUTH. Auckland.—The long spell of fine weather, which has lasted for a month, continued yesterday, the wind feeing light from the north-west. The barometer has been falling slowly since the beginning of the week, and the reading last, night was 30.00 in.
Wellington.—A warm brisk northerly wind drove an unbroken pall of clouds across the sky yesterday. After dark the wind dropped and heavy, steady rain, the first for aDout five weeks, commenced to fall at about 10.30 p.m. Christchurch.—The weather was dull yesterday, with a few gleams, of sunshine. A light northerly wind prevailed until late in the afternoon, when it veered to the south-west, bringing with it steady rain, which will be most beneficial to pastures and gardens. The maximum temperature was 65. The barometer, which was falling, moved upward with the change in the wind, and in the evening stood at 29.90. Dunedin. —The weather yesterday was cloudy but fine, with a light wind from the north-west. The maximum temperature in the shade was 56 degrees, .in barometer fell steadily on Thursday nigh but rose yesterday, the reading in evening being 29.75. <i
