THE MOUNT EDEN CLUB.

The annual general meeting of ihs Mount Eden Hockey Club, held in the Grafton Library, was well attended, over thirty members being present. Before proceeding with the business, a _ motion of sympathy to Mr. and Mrs. Highfield, on the sad loss of their son Ken, was carried, all present standing as a tribute of respect. The annual report showed that the club had had a. most successful season all round, as well as socially. The senior team was well up in the championship throughout the whole season, going under for the honours irt the last two matches. This team carried off the Devonporfc Shield with an undefeated record, while the fifth grade team won its grade and the championship with an undefeated record, havinc scored 84 goals ana having only five goals scored against. The second and fifth grades won the seven-a-side tournaments on June 3, the seniors being nmners-up. and the club winning the Harvard Cup. Last, season's officers were re-elected and a number of new members were elected. During the evening presentations w*re made to Mr. and Mrs T. Kelly, who are leaving for Ireland on March 28. This season the club celebrates its twepty* first- birthdav. Formed in 1909 and affilr ating with 'the association in 1910, the record of the club has been of a high standard. For the 20 years under the association 16 championships have been won. : ■ - , Representative honours have been freely gained by both senior and junior players, New Zealand honours having also been gained by club members, Mr. A. At the annual meeting of the Morrinsville Hockey Club players were congratulated in winning the Piako Association's championship last season.
