A NEW SWEET. Talking of food—and what pleasanter topic—you may liko to know of a new and simple sweet tliat was served at a luncheon given by Lady Louis Baron, in London, the daughter-in-law of the late Bernliard 13aron, millionaire and philanthropist, It consisted of a largo chilled pear, peeled and cored, and the inside filled up with wholo walnuts. Over this was poured hot red currants in syrup, and by the side of the pear was a slab of lemon-water ice.
