BEHIND THE FOOTLIGHTS.
PECCY O'NEIL. If ever you pay a visit to vivacious Peggy O'Neil in her dressing-room, writes a Londoner, you will see a box of polished wood, and if Peggy lets you press a tiny switch you will hear faintly. recorded all that is taking place that moment before and behind the footlights. When she wants to know at any moment what part of the show has been reached, she presses the switch and hears the words spoken on tho stage and tho laughter of the audience. Who says it is so nice to be able to know exactly when to dress and to bo ready for her cue without having to relv entirely on tho call boy.
