When the loch waters rushed at last along the tunnel driven through Ben «evis the engineer who had planned the fcheme was not /there to see the crowning act of his great and wonderful design. He was Mr. Charles Godfrey Jameson, a nephew of the Dr. Jameson who was a. friend of Cecil Rhodes; and "6 had pu.t his whole heart in more than on 6 way, into the work, which when completed, will be the greatest hydroelectric enterprise in the kingdom, f On Christmas Eve, the day when be should have stood >by the side of the waters, he passed, /jver the river of death. The Ben Nevis works will be a monument to a great engineer who spared not feiffiself.,
