MISHAP ON STEAMER

.A claim against the Union Steam Ship Company for compensation for injuries i.ras made in the Arbitration Court by Albert Learv, a waterside worker.

While assisting to coal the Ruapehu Leary was buried down a bunker hole •and claimed that he had been totally incapacitated until now. He had received compensation amounting to £3 15s 9d a week until January 6 and claimed further compensation aiid medical expenses and costs.

The defence asserted the plaintiff had been able to work since January 13. The Court gave judgment for compensation until January 20, with £3 3s costs and expenses.
