SHEEP-STEALING ALLEGED.

YOUNG FARMER ARRESTED.

[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATIOX.J DUNEDI3ST, Friday.

Gilbert William Lewis, a young farmer at Springvale, near Alexandra, was arrested on Thursday evening and charged at Alexandra this morning before justices of the peace with the theft of 20 sheep at Springvale on March 10, the property of Edward J. lies, of Chatto Creek. Accused was remanded to appear before a magistrate at Alexandra on April 10. Bail was granted in accused's own recognisance of £SOO and two sureties of £2so each.
