OUTBOARD RACING.
ANNUAL CUP DAY. The outboard division of the New Zealand Power-Boat Association will hold its annual cup day on the Whau River course to-morrow afternoon. The programme is an interesting one ard is attracting a great deal of attention. In addition to six cup races there will be a challenge race between the three fastest boats yet seen in Auckland, namely, Silvertown Kid, Marquette Pug. and Humbug. The distance is three miles and all boats will start from scratch. Besides the outboard races the New Zealand provincial eight rowing championship will be held and also other rowing races. Following are the handicaps for the outboard events: — D Class and Over Handicap, 3 miles, N.Z. Herald Cup.-—Chief, limit; Lady Cray. POWER-BOAT ASSOCIATION. RACE TO AWAROA BAY. The New Zealand Power-Boat Association will hold a cruising race to Awaroa Bay to-morrow afternoon. The race will start from King's Wharf at 2.30. Mr. J. S. Hanna will be starter and Mr. B. Spencer timekeeper and judge. The entries are as follows; —Lady Margaret, My Girl, Kathryn R., Maro, Ramona, Shenandoah. The handicaps will be declared to-day.
VICTORIA CRUISING CLUB. RACE TO ROCKY BAY. The Victoria Cruising Club will hold a cruising race to Rocky Bay, Waiheko, tomorrow afternoon, for launches, keel yachts and mullet boats. For the smaller classes harbour races will be held. The course will be direct to Rocky Bay. finishing between the launch Pal-o-mine and the markboat. Following are the handicaps for the cruising races:— Launch Race, start at 2.30. —Togo, scr; Areta, 2m; Yvonne, 4Jm; Naomi, 9m 455; Young Zealandia, 60m. Johnson: judge, of the harbour races, Commodore E. Griffiths; timekeeper, Mr. M. Perkin: judge of cruising races, Vice-Commodore L. M. Tercel: timekeepers, Messrs. W. Walsh and J. Atford.
MANUKAU CRUISING CLUB. YACHT AND LAUNCH RACES. The Manukau Cruising Club will hold harbour races for yachts and launches tomorrow afternoon. Yachts will start off their handicaps, Mark Fo.v system, the limit boat at 2.30 p.m. Launch/' will race under sealed handicaps, flying start, at 3.23 p.m.. 10 minutes after the scratch yacht. The Yacht and Power Boat Club's first race for the Ward Cup for second-class yachts resulted in a win for Charm, with No Surrender second. The points for the Cup now stand as follows:—Charm, 5; No Surrender, 3.
