TEMPERANCE CONTENTION.
WOMEN MEET AT .TIMARU*
[by telegraph.—press association 1 . ] TIMARTJ, Thursday. The annual New Zealand convention of the Women's Christian Temperance Union opened this morning. A large number of delegates was present. Mrs. .T. E. Taylor, of Christchurch, presided. The visitors were accorded a civic welcome by tha. Mayor, Mr. W. Angland. Tlie financial statement showed a satisfactory credit balance.
