BOROUGH MANAGER SYSTEM.

PROPOSAL FOR ONE TREE HILL.

The borough manager system was explained by Mr. R. G. Clark at the final meeting of the One Tree Hill Road Board last evening. Under such a scheme* Mr. Clark stated, all the council's employees , would be responsible to the general manager. The system was successfully conducted in 300 cities in the United States, while the same principle was applied in the administration of the Auckland "Harbour Board and the Auckland Electric-Power Board;,

A resolution was passed recommending to the incoming borough council that tho borough manager system o£ control should be adopted in One Tree Hill and that the present clerk,' Mr. A. Leese, should bo appointed town clerk, borough treasurer and general manager with tho title of general manager.
