THEFTS BY GOVERNOR'S WIFE CONCOCTED TALE OF ROBBERY. BERLIN. March 17. A sensation has been caused in society and official circles by the confession of Frau Momm, the aristocratic wife of the Governor of Potsdam, that she is responsible for a series of thefts of silverware and cash from the Governor's official residence. Suspicions were aroused when Frau Momm's story of a visit by masked bandits was found to contain discrepancies. She later confessed to her husband, who informed the police, and submitted his own resignation of his post. It is stated that she took the money to pay large bills for drapery.
