PLUNKED SHIELD MATCH.

WELLINGTON MEN HONOURED CARTOON TO BE PRESENTED. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The management committee of tho Wellington Cricket Association has decided to have a cartoon, which depicted T. C. Low'ry, H. M. McGirr and E. G. McLeod as huge rocks on the pitch at the Basin -Reserve in the Plunket Shield match against Auckland, enlarged, mounted and suitably inscribed, and to present a copy each to these three cricketers. This announcement was made at a meeting last evening by the chairman, Mr. P. B. Broad, who said the committee thought it was only fitting that the players mentioned should receive some lasting memento of the part they had played in a memorable match. Mr. Broad's motion to forward a letter of thanks to T. C. Lowry, for his services to Wellington and New Zealand cricket this season, was carried unanimously.
