PRICES AT HAMILTON. WEAKER DEMAND FOR BEEF. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] HAMILTON, Tuesday. There was a weaker demand for beef at the Frankton saleyards to-day, and prices were easier. A medium yarding of sheep sold at late rates. Pigs were penned in large numbers, prices remaining unchanged. The auctioneers report a3 follows :

PRICES AT TAUMARUNUI. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] - TAUMARUNUI, Tuesday. \ The yarding at the Taumarunui stock sale to-day comprised 3500 sheep, a few head of cattle and a small entry of pigs. Mixed-aged ewes made up to late rates, wethers showed a slight decline on last week's prices and best two-tooth ewes made 24s 9d. Bidding was not very spirited, but most of the sheep were sold under the hammer to local farmers. There was a large attendance of farmers, but outside •* buyers were conspicuous by their absence. The following prices were realised:—Pigs: Porkers, 35s Gd to 365; stores, 19s to 275; weaners, 12s to 16s. Sheep: Fat sheep, 25s Gd; mixed age wethers, 12s 3d to 19s 3d; two-tooth wethers, 20s 2d to 21s 6d; small mixed ewes, 14s to 18s; good ewes, 22s 6d; four and five-year-old ewes, 16s 9d to -17» 6d; four-year-old ewes, 21s; best two-tooth ewes, 24s Id to 24s 9d; other - two-tooth ewes, 22s Id; old ewes, 9s 6d to 12s 6d; good wether lambs, 14s; small wether lambs, 12s 9d; ewe lambs, to 15s. CAMBRIDGE AND RANGIRIRI. The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., reports:—At the Cambridge sale on Monday we penned a good yarding of cattle and sheep. Late rates were niaintained throughout. A line of 13 dairy cows averaged £lO 12s 6d. Quotations:—Sheep: Fat wethers, 22s 9d to 25s 6d; forward lambs, woolly, 21s; good woolly lambs, 14s 3d to 17s 9d; smaller woolly lambs, 12s to 13b 3d; cull lambs, 7s 8d; two-tooth ewes. 275; full mouth ewes, 123 to 14s 9d; cull ewes, 93 6d to 12s. Cattle: Fat cows, £6 4s to £3 lis; forward cows, £5 to £5 17s 6d; store cows, £3 to £3 15s; heifer calves, £2 2s to £3' 7s 6d. Pigs: Stores, 35s to £2; slips, 293 to 335; weaners, 12s Gd to 22s 6d. Dairy cattle: Best Jersey ar.d Jersey-cross dairy cows, £lO to £l2 10s; others, £8 to £9 10s. The company reports having held their Rangiriri slobk sale on Monday, when a good yarding of cattle came forward. Prices throughout were on a par with late rates, with little demand for young Btock.
