DftAMA IN A CIRCUS. BRAVE WOMAN DYING. INTERVENTION IN A FIGHT. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. (Received March 14, 5.5 p.m.) BERLIN. March 13. A dramatic scone occurred in a menagerie attached to a circus at Kassel, Prussia. A young lion confined in a cage next to one containing a Siberian bear tore down the thin partition separating them and leapt at the bear. A furious ba,ttle ensued. The circus-owner's wife, Frau Hassel, who was alone at the time, courageously rushed into the cage armed with a wire whip and separated the fighting beasts. The lion then turned on the woman and terribly mauled her. Attendants, alarmed by Frau Hansel's shrieks and the lion's roars, went to the rescue. Using revolvers and rods tho men chased the lion into a corner of the cage. It was so badly injured that it had to be destroyed. The bear died of its injuries. ' Frau Hassel is now in hospital in a dying condition.
