Shakespeare and Bernard Shaw are favourite playwrights in the Turkish theatres of Constantinople. The MS of Bernard Shaw's play, " You Never Can Tell," eight pages of which are in his handwriting, sold recently for £I2OO. The engagement is announced of Miss Pamela Frankau, who is tho younger daughter of Mr. Gilbert Frankau, the novelist. Miss Frankau is herself tho author of four books, the first of which, " The Marriage of Harlequin," appeared when she was only seventeen.
