For the whole of the afternoon he had submitted to the attentions of his hostess' young son. hut at last he began to grow tired of having his whiskers pulled and his toes trodden on. ' ''Madam," he said, as he was about to depart;, " there is. one thing about your charming young son which especially pleases me." \" 'y > "And what is that?" asked the smiling mother. 1 " That he isn't a twin," replied the old gentleman.
