EMPLOYERS PROSECUTED.
PROTEST BY ASSOCIATION. The prosecution of employers by the Labour Department for what were described as petty alleged breaches of awards was discusged at a meeting of the executive committee ot the Auckland Provincial Employers' Association on Thursday. The president, Mr. Albert Spencer, presided. Attention was drawn to the non-prosecution of unions and workers who have taken part in strikes in Auckland. A resolution, to be forwarded to the Minister of Labour, the Hon. W. A. Veitch, was passed, emphatically protesting against the action of the Labour De partment in prosecuting employers for alleged petty breaches of Arbitration Court awards, while the action of workers in striking in defiance of the provisions 'of the Arbitration Act was apparently condoned by the department.
