INDUSTRIAL COMMITTEE.
MR, JENKINS RESIGNS,
NO UNITED REPRESENTATION.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, Friday. The Minister of Industries and Commerce, Hon. J. B. Donald, stated to-day that Sir. H. P. Jenkins, M.P., had resignfed his position as a member of tho Select Committee appointed by the House of Representatives to inquire into and report upon certain manufacturing industries oft the Dominion. Mr. Jenkins had stated that his resignation was owing to his being no longer a member of tho Government Party. v The other members of the committee were Mr. D. G. Sullivan, Mr. A. Harris and the Hon. J. G. Cobbe, who was at present in Samoa. The position, therefore, was that the Government was left without representation on the committee. The situation was being considered by Cabinet, and an announcement, of the Government's intentions in tho matter would be made shortly.
