The rowing events promise well, and there will be more side-shows than ever. Although the Regatta, Association has control of the whole point, it is pressed for . space to accommodate all its events. Work on the new traffic bridge is progressing steadily. The cylinders for No.. 3 pier in the river are nearly into position; the north pier is now being rapidly constructed; and work is being vigorously pushed forward. The phenomenal growth of grass this year has resulted in a continuation of heavy cream supplies long beyond tho period when a falling off generally This has been a marvellous year for production. The stato of that part of tho Great South Road lying within . the borough boundaries has brought forth adverse comment from the Automobile Association.; The Borough Council intends to get this piece of road concreted or tar-sealed aa soon as the necessary arrangements can be'made.
