The film was shown for 56 days and was witnessed ty 182,000 people. " The Gold Di ggers of Broadway" certainly set a high standard for films of its type. Its phenomenal success has ■not confined to Auckland and it forms one of t'no greatest arguments in favour of the complete use of colour in motion pictures. The colour photography was far ahead of anything that has yet been seen in Auckland and was responsible for much of the success ol the picture
