THE PLAIN CHILD.
One of the worst things in the world 5s to let a cliild know that she is plain. The plain child is usually nervous and is frequently Anhappy. She is often morbid, and " grown-ups " so seldom realise that the nervousness and unhappiness are caused, not by the plainness, but by_ the knowledge that the ugly child " isn't like othejr girls." If your child is a beauty, try to keep her so, but never tell ier that she is ugly or awkward, or even * just plain."
