And nice, old-fashioned folk are ♦> vexed *l* To think of what may happen ♦!* *l* next. *l* V They fear that as the craze gains *j* *»* strength V *;* Women may go to any length. *;* Therefore, my love, in case they V V do, V I have prepared this ode for you: Slv love is like an emerald So shining is her face of green. ♦% Not in the feline's glowing eye ♦♦♦ So bright a tint is seen. It shames the beauty, yet untainted, Of my back door just newly *l* ♦J» painted. , * * *l* A thousand cupirfe sport within *;* V The mazes of her violet hair. *♦* Her teeth of purest Prussian blue *♦* *j* Are other maids' despair. V Her orange hands and crimson J V arms But emphasise her dainty J charms.
