PICKPOCKET SENTENCED.
TWO MONTHS' IMPRISONMENT

HAMILTON, Friday,
" This is a serious case, but if you had not had previous convictions I would have been disposed to have granted you probation," said Mr. Justice Smith in the Hamilton Supreme Court to-day when sentencing David Alexander Swanson, aged 46, who had pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted theft at Eotorua.
His Honor said prisorter had been caught while attempting to pick a man's pocket on a racecourse. A sentence of two months' imprisonment was imposed.
