SUSPECTED CHOLERA.

CASE OCCURS AT SUVA. VESSEL LATELY FROM CALCUTTA SUVA. March 3. A case of suspected cholera has occurred on the steamer Sutlej, which arrived at Suva from Calcutta on February 28 with a large number of Indians. The ship was fumigated and pratique was granted, although a case of cholera had been landed at Batavia, Java, on Februry 10. Yesterday a member of the crew became suddenly ill. His ailment has been provisionally diagnosed as cholera. The ship was returned to quarantine and all precautions are being taken.
