GOLF.
THE EVERSLIE CLUB. There km a good a 1 tendance nl members at the fourth anneal meeting of. the Zversiie Golf Club, presided over by Mr. L. S. Beeehey. Hie report showed the membership at 82 playing members, one hie member and 14 honorary members, as against- 80 members in the 192S season. During last season | the course bad been extended from 12 to IS holes. The alter-lions were necessarily expensive, bat the committee considered them amply justified by the splendid results. Jnter-chib matches -were played with Pukckolie. Glendowie, Papaknra. and Otahuhu. while club competitions were numerous and well supported by members. The balunceshtttjt showed a small debit balance, which was accounted for by the alterations and purchase of the motor mower. The club was greatly, indebted to the ladies for their co-operation and willing assistance, both in general management und in provision of refreshments. ll was decided to hold the annual meetings in future in October instead of February, in order to {rive the incoming committee all the summer season to prepare for the next season instead of a few weeks, as at present. The election of officers resulted as follows : _p 3 iron, Mr. Balfour M. Irvine: president. Mr. P. J. Parker; vice-president, Mr. E. D. McLennan; captain. Mr. Agmen G. Smith; vice-captain. Mr. P. .T. Hogan: treasurer. Mr. C. S. Beeehey; auditor. Mr. Bex Brewer: committee. Messrs. J. S. Dykes. J. Rhind. J. E. O'Neill, G. C. Hobson and K. Watson. The committee was deputed to appoint, a secretary and also to fix the opening date for the coming season. j !
