NEW FRENCH CABINET.

CHAUTEMPS AS PREMIEE

MANY HEW MINISTERS.

SUPPORT OF SOCIALISTS.

TARDIEU DECLINES OFFICE.

By Telegraph—PreßS Association— Copyright. (Received February 21. 8.15 p.m.) PARIS, Feb. 21. The Parliamentary Radical Party leader, M. Camille Chautemps, after securing M. Briand's assurance of his co-operation, submitted his Ministry to the President, M, Doumergue, as follows: — Premier and Minister of the Interior. M. Chautemps. Minister of Foreign Affairs.—M. Briand. Minister for War.—M. Daladier. Minister of Marine.— M. Sarraut. Minister of Finance.—M. Dnmont. Minister of Agriculture.—M. Queuille.

Minister of Pensions. — M. Ricorfi. Minister of Commerce. —M. Flandin. Minister of Public Works. —M. Loucheur. Minister for the Colonies. —M. Pietri.

The political complexion of the Ministry is Radical and Left Centre. It will hava the support of the Socialists, but it remains to be seen what majority it will command in the Chamber of Deputies. The new Premier is a former Rugby international player. His age is 45. He is a barrister, with agreeable manners, and is regarded as a man of moderate views. But he has been known to show firmness in the past. M. Tardieu. in declining to enter M. Chautemps' Cabinet, said events did not permit of his collaboration. This might be interpreted as a disavowal of the majority by which his Government had been faithfully defended in international actions at the Hague and London, but he assured M. Chautemps that he would support any Government that took the same line as ho himself took at the Naval Conference.

The Ministers in the last Cabinet who have not been included by M. Chautemps are the following:— Minister of Finance: M. Cheron. Minister of War: M. Maginol. Minister of Marine: M. Leygues. Minister of Public Works: M. Pernot. Minister of Agriculture: M. Hennesy. Two or three" portfolios have not yet been assigned by M. Chautemps. DEFEAT OF TARDIEU. MINORITY OF ONE ONLY. VOTING LIST CORRECTED. (Received February 21. 9.15 p.m.) PARIS. Feb. 21. An official correction of the voting shows that M. Tnrdieu's Government was defeated by a majority of one only, and not by five votes.
