EXTENDING THE SERVICE.
INCREASE IN REVENUE

TAUBAXGA, Friday. The Tauranga Electric Power Board held its meeting to-day. r lhe engineer reported that construction work was proceeding satisfactorily. The two branch lines on Kauri Point, Katikati had been completed. A start had been made on the section from Tahawai station to Bowontown Road. The line to the Arawat Trust farm at Maketu had been completed. Work was proceeding on the telephone crossings and 10 had been completed. The secretary reported that for the nine months ended December 31 the sale of current and motor and motor hire amounted to £15,765, an increase of £IOO2 compared with the corresponding period of the previous year. The cost of power for the period was £4353. The question of charges for operating a. land drainage pump in the Maketu Riding was referred to the engineer and Mr. G. H. Minds. The matter of additional current for the Government workshops at Mount Maunganui was referred to the engineer.
