NEW ZEALAND AIRMEN.
FORCED LANDING MADE.
NARROW ESCAPE FROM SEA.
(Received February 20. 11.55 p.m.) KARACHI. Feb. 19. The New Zealand airmen, FlyingOfficers Piper and Kay did not reach Karachi this afternoon as expected. Soon after leavirtp Jask last evening they made a forced landing in a village about five miles away. The fliers landed on the beach just in time to avoid falling into the sea.. Native chiefs encamped in the vicinity rendered help and towed their machine to the aerodrome. The forced landing was due to serious engine trouble. Spare parts for the engine cannot be obtained in India. This means a delay of a week or more while parts are procured from England.
