THEFT FROM EMPLOYER.
PROBATION FOR YOUNG MAN. An allegation that ho hart stolen goods from his employer and sold them in order to have a holiday afc Rotorua was made in the Police Court yesterday when Ernest Keyvar, aged 20, traveller (Mr. Moody), pleaded guilty to theft of property valued at £l7 2s 6d. Mr. Moody said that accused was the son of respectable parents, and temptation was put in his way by the slack manner in which the business was run. He had made a complete statement to the police to assist in clearing up the trouble, flis ago was an additional reason for leniency. Mr. I<\ K. Hunt, R.M.: I cannot help that. He was in a position of trust and abused it. Accused was placed on strict probation, and was ordered to mako complete restitution within 24 hours. A request for suppression of the name was refused.
