PARKERSON'S VENTURE.

ROUTE TO AUSTRALIA.

MAY FLY OVER TURKEY.

LONDON, Feb. 14

The' Auckland airman Mr. C. P. Parkerson, who is to attempt to fly from England to Australia, was interviewed to-day. He expressed the opinion that there was nothing like flying. Mr. Parkerson said he had always been interested in aviation, but had been compelled to wait till ho retired from business before he could take it up seriously. Ho had found it difficult at first but afterwards it had been easy. He had not been more than 40 hours in the air and had only flown in England. He had bought the Moth in which be proposed to fly to Australia as the easiest way of going there. He hoped to change -from the ordinary route by making a short cut over but it was difficult to obtain flying permits in that country. The airman said Ill's route probably would be: Lymprie, v Lyons, Turin, Pisa, Rome, Naples, Brindisi, Athens, Konia, Aleppo,.Basra, Jask, Karachi, Allahabad, Calcutta, Rangoon, Singapore, Rco, in Mores Island, and Darwin. If the weather was good he would go " all out." His machine was not fitted-with slotted wings. They were all right for a novice' but not necessary for " old hands.".
