BIRKENHEAD TRANSPORT.

Sir,—l should like to protest against the overcrowding of buses running in the borough of Birkenhead. This is a daily occurrence. Neither the Borough Council nor the No. 2 Licensing 'Authority is taking any notice of this overloading. As an example, a bus from the 12.20 p.m. boat on Saturday, though licensed to carry only about 27, had over 50, and every time a passenger wished to alight it was necessary for seven or eight people to unpack from the steps and then hurriedly clamber on again as the bus moved off. In spite of this, there is a rumour that pressure is to be brought for the council again to Jicense as buses the motor-cars which werd the direct cause of our losing the only satisfactory service the borough has ever had and brought about the present chaotic transport conditions. • < Highbury.
