NIGHT EXPRESS SERVICE.
TARANAKI AND WELLINGTON.
PROVISIONAL TIME-TABLE;

According to advice received by Mr. H. G. Dickio, M.P., the inauguration of a night express service three times weekly between Wellington and Taranaki may be expected next month. Information to this effect was given the Hawera Chamber of Commerce by Mr. Dickie last evening,.when he read a letter from the Minister of Railways. The matter has now been brought to the stage where a time-table has been formulated. It is proposed that the night train shall leave Wellington on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 10.35 p.m., arriving, in New Plymouth at 8.15 a.m. 'lhe return train will leave .New Plymouth on . Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 9.10 p.m., arriving in Wellington at 6.32 a.m. The department expects to bo in a position to commence running trains about the piiddlo of March. . • . ' The now service should bo a boon to the district, particularly to business people, who will be able to pay a visit to Wellington with a minimum loss of day-time hours in travelling, said, Mr, Dickie. His opinion was endorsed by the president of the council, Mr. B. C. Bennett, and other speakers.,
