POLICE FOR SAMOA.
.TRAINING AT TRENTHAM.
ARRIVAL" OF RECRUITS.

A party of about 150 recruits for the Samoa military police force from the Southern and Central Commands left Wellington at 10.15 a.m. to-day for Trentham to undergo training, in case it is necessary to send a detachment to Samoa.
The recruits from the South Island, who were in command of Lieutenant Shuttleworth, arrived in Wellington by the ferry steamer this morning, and they joined the men from the Central Command.
A contingent of 80 men from Auckland reached camp this afternoon, and practically the full quota of 250 recruits is now at Trentham. Major N. W. McD. Weir, staff officer in charge of No. 5 Regimental District, is the officer commanding the recruits.
The General Officer Commanding the New Zealand Forces states that the following officers are being posted to accompany the force:—Major /Weir (Wellington), Captain G. Dittmer (Paeroa), Captain J. G. C. Wales (Auckland), Captain A. W. Greville (Auckland) and Captain A. Bongard (Gisborne).
