OBITUARY.
MR. PETER LARKIN. CANADIAN COMMISSIONER. (Received February 4, 5.5-p.m.) LONDON. Feb. 3. The death lias occurred of Mr. Peter Larkin, Canadian High Commissioner, in London, aged 73. A message from Ottawa says it seems assured that Mr. Vincent Massey will be recalled from Washington to succeed Mr. Larkin.
Mi-, l'eter Charles Larkin succeeded Sir George Perley as High Commissioner in 1922. He was bora in Montreal in 1856, and became immensely wealthy in the tea trade, with large interests in the United States and Britain. Ho was a liberal supporter of hospitals in Toronto and was on various public bodies. MR. VICTOR E. CROMER. REMARKABLE PERSONALITY. SYDNEY, Feb. 4. The death has occurred of Mr. Victor E. Cromer. Formerly , deceased was an associate of world-famous men, such as Mr. Ramsay Mac Donald, Loin and Trot/,ley. He had a remarkable personality. Mr. Cromer claimed to bo ablo to exercise the gift of " touch healing." He was 47 years old. Born in South Australia ho began his career on a newspaper. He was Australia's representative at a Socialist Conference at Stuttgart in 1907. There he met many political leaders.
