AUSTRALIAN SWIMMER.

DR; KEITH KIRKLAND. STUDIES IN EDINBURGH. LONDON, Jan. 26. Two Australians, Drs. Keith Kirkland and Aubrey Pye, son of Mr. R. A. Pye, of Kurrajong, have been successful in obtaining their F.R.C.S. degrees at Edinburgh University. Dr. Kirkland, who was an Olympic swimmer, has been at London Hospital, and he has done postgraduate work at Edinburgh for the past two years He will go to Australia in March.

He has been swimming only privately here," but he caused .a stir in the baths of the'Boyal Automobile Club, where he was residing, by unofficial sprints up and down the baths.

Dr. Keith Kirkland was one of the finest all-round swimmers New South Wales has had. During his active career he won a number of championships when swimming with the Manly and University Clubs.
