PEPPER IN GIRL'S FACE. "I did it only for a joke," said John Canbury, a barman, of Newport, Melbourne, in tho Police Court recently, when asked why he had blown pepper in a girl's face at a dancing hall. Doris Tammo said that when she refused Canbury a dance ho opened his hand and blew some powder in her face. Her sight was temporarily affected and her nose bled. Tho powder was found to bo pepper.
