PILLION RIDER HURT.

BIG TOE SEVERED BY CHAIN.

A painful accident bofel Mr. D. Fergusson, of Papakura, a post office employee, on T u esday evening. He was riding on the pillion of a motor-cycle when his foot became caught in the chain, with the result that a big toe was severed. Mr. Fergusson and Mr. W. F. Jeffries, the rider, were on,their way to Otahuhu when the accident occurred. Tho injured man was taken to Linton Private Hospital, where ho was attended by Dr. W G. Bridgeman.
