Two coalminers were arrested at Greta for threatening to 'tar and feather a policeman's wife ajid for trying to persuade shopkeepers to stop her supplies. The colliery owners have definitely decided to test the validity of the interim award made by Mr. Justice Beeby last week. SYDNEY DOMAIN MOB. STONES THROWN AT POLICE. SPEAKERS TAKEN IN CUSTODY. SYDNEY, Jan. 27. An ugly scene occurred in the Sydney Domain yesterday. • The police arrested Charles Reeves, organiser of the Independent Workers of the World, and other speakers. A crowd of 5000 people surged round the policemen and their prisoners and stones were thrown. At the gates of the Mitchell Library the jostling by a section of the crowd became so serious that the police had to form a barrier across the street. The mob followed the police to their headquarters, but subsequently dispersed.
