SCOTLAND'S BARD.

BAN ON HIS SONGS. BAVARIAN CHURCH EDICT. (Received January 27, 8.5 p.m.) BERLIN, Jan. 27. The songs of Robert Burns have been banned by the Roman Catholic episcopal authorities in the famous Bavarian town of Ratisbon. The reason given is that they are immoral and calculated to, corrupt the innocence of. impressionable children. The ban is the outcome of a performance of the 'late Joseph Haydn's Scottish and Welsh folk-songs and the reading of a lecture written by Haydn on Burns.
