TYPOGRAPHICAL UNION.
ELECTION OF OFFICERS. A very satisfactory position in tho affairs of the Auckland Typographical Union was revealed at the annual meeting. The retiring president, Mr. W. J. Simmonds, presided. The report stated that 20 members joined during the past year, the membership now standing at 374. The following officers were elected: — President, Mr. S. Learning; secretary and treasurer, Mr. F. A. Cleveland (reelected) ; trustees, Messrs. F. Armiger and IJ. Harvey (re-elected); general board members. Messrs. G. Brotherton and J. Grahfim (re-elected). A ballot is being conducted for the election of a vice-presi-dent. Tho financial statement showed recuipts for 1110 past six months totalling £406, making a total of £IB6B for tho year. The expenditure was £399, and included £B6 for sickness and unemployment allowances, £23 for retiring grants and £l7 for donations. Tho balance of assets over liabilities was £1468.
