WRACKLER'S GOOD EFFORT. HAROLD LEE JUST WINS. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.]! WELLINGTON, Saturday. Brent Zolock, who was a winner all the way in the Probationer's Handicap at Hutt Park to-day, is a five-year-old gelding by Brent Loeanda from Kato Zolock. Tho odds-on favourite Lydia paced a poor race, showing no dash. The Kaitoko Handicap was a poor race. Tot Logan, in 'spite of one skip, finished too well for Bright Light, who was beaten in the last stride by Ukelelo Lady, who finished very fast after breaking up at the turn. These three outrae'ed the field. Writer Was going well half a milo ft oro li o ill o when he broke. Tamahine broke up early and that was the end of her. [ Wrackler was favourite in tho Gold Cup, which was a good betting race, but it was a poor race, for tho horses could not handle the going- too well. No less than three broke up in the straight. They were Dilwortb, Concliff and'Dundas Boy. Dilworth, who went to make tho paco from Concliff, Wrackler, Logan Chief, Daphne de Oro and Dundas Boy, whilo King Pointer lost ground through Daphno de Oro. At the stands, with* a round to go, Dilworth just led from Concliff, Wrackler, Dundaa Boy, Quality and Logan Chief. Dilworth just led ConclifT, Wrackler and Dundas Boy with three furlonas tb go, then coming Quality, Logan Chief and Daphno de Oro in line. Dundas Boy was cut back at the turn aud broke. Dilworth, when hard pressed by Concliff 100 yards from tho post, left his feet. Then Wrackler challenged ConclifT and he in turn broko into a gallop, leaving Wrackler to beat him homo by two lengths. Quality was four lengths back third, and then camo Logan Chief, Daphne do Oro and Dilwprtlu Wrackloc put up a fine performance, but was perhaps lucky to beat Concliff, while Dundas Boy lost a winning chanco at tho turn. Quality went a good race, - Wrackeon followed up Wrnckler's cup success by scoring very convincingly from Quoon Elizabeth in the Improver's Handicap. She is .a neat filly. Qu'cen Elizabeth fiiiiehcd well and Wakefield paced a solid race. Shady. Spot, who was well backed, began very slowly: Harold Lee jlißt lasted long enough to beat Petronius in tho Novice Handicap. In a desperato finish Petronius finished fast on the extreme outsido, with Harold Lee on tho rails, There was so little in it that the crowd on the official stand, whose angle favoured Petronius, mads a demonstration, but the fudge was right. Silverwood finished well and went a good race. Driftwave also paced solidly.

Jock Bingen,'' backed down to a very short price, mado no race of the Progressive Handicap. Boneta showed the way for the most of the way, but when Jock Bingen headed him he left his feet, and finished a moderate second. Dipnoi was a poor third. Only the dividend payers' looked likely at any part.- Ukelele Lady trotted very badly. Dipnoi- was disqualified 1 for galloping and third place was awardod to All l Peters. Ngingongingo, : backed down to a. vory short price, had little to spare at the finish of the Gracefield Handicap from Shady Spot, who finished-well after losing ground near the top turn. Ngingongtngo took the lead about this place and he had to bo hard driven to get into position. Kauloraa Ricardo went *air race. The winner's performance for a three-year-old over two miles was good. Prince Pointer was favourite cl' the six runnors in ths concluding event. Bessie Logan, who held a good position in behind the loaders at the turn, shot to the, front less than >a furlong from home nnd won well by a length. Tho Shrew, who made the paco most of tho way, just stalled off the fast-finishing Bonny Logan. Athalonc lost ground at the start and then was bustled to tho front,. This prejudicod his chance. Prince Pointer made a great effort, but broke in tho loose ground at the turn.
