RUGBY, Jan. 25. The total valuo of last year's overseas trade was lower than that of 1924, which was tho best year sinco tho post-war trade slump, but in tho actual volume of trade there was a marked improvement. The imports last year represent 10.9 per cent, increase in volume, as compared with those in 1924, and exports wero 8 per cent, greater in volume than in 1924. CANADIAN WHEAT CROP. EFFECT OF WORLD SURPLUS OTTAWA, Jan. 24. A messago from Calgary states that the report of the Alberta Co-operative Council to the United Farmers of Alberta says:—"Given tho immediate available world's acreage and two normal world crops, wo will face thr> world surplus, and with tho unorganised competition of tho other exporting countries, this can mean nothing else but a lower price level."The safeguarding of tho purchasing power of the wheat dollar, unless and until they can control the production of the major crops, is quoted'as a means of offsetting the fall in price. Co-operative buying on the chain store system is also suggested.
