PRAYER BOOK BURNED.

EXETER CATHEDRAL SCENE.

LONDON, Jan. 19.

Following upon protests against the use .of the 1928 revised prayer book in Exeter Cathedral more than 100 people walked in procession to the cathedral carrying banners. These bore legends appealing to the Government to restrain the bishops from introducing an "illegal and unscriptural" prayer book. A large crowd of onlookers witnessed a copy of the 1928 book being soaked in petrol and burned in the cathedral close.
