OPINION AS TO CAUSE*
COURT FINDING CRITICISED.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, Thursday. The finding of the Nautical Court of Inquiry into tho wreck of the steamer Manuka, was discussed at considera e length by tho committee ,of managemen of the Merchant Service Guild this morning. Special consideration was 0 clause 3 of the finding, and the following resolution was carried: — _ "That this committee, after careful consideration of the finding arrived at by the Court, is of opinion that the wreck of 6 Manuka was caused wholly by an & normal'easterly set; and, furiosi, 1 Court was unable to determine on the evi dence before it why the ship was six south'of her apparent" then are at a loss to know-.why it nstuine „ verdict of negligence against the master.
